Summer in Full Swing

It's been quite a while since I've posted any thought. Although I am usually the only one reading my blog, my sister does by chance check my blog out once in a great while. So, this new post may surprise her.

The vegetable garden is getting attention with weeding and watering, but we need rain! Just a few months ago we broke the record having the wettest Spring ever. I guess you have to be careful what you wish for, as we are now experiencing a dry, dry summer.

Pillowcase Progress

A few weeks ago I joined an online group for the purpose of making pillowcases for the Million Pillowcase project. I enlisted the help of my two sisters, and so far we have made 99 pillowcases. All of the cases were made from fabric we had from our days of selling our wares at crafts shows. We had a goal of completing 80 for a nursing home nearby, but then went beyond that number. We're thinking about making more for yet another nursing facility.

Blogging Fun

Following others' blogs sure takes time, but I come away with so many great ideas as well as inspiration. Right now I am following a group of creative designers who are sharing projects (with tutorials) for making Valentine's Day projects. The blog hop is called "Be Mine Blog Tour." So far they have shared heart ornaments, a table topper, and a pillow. Fabulous fun for these cold (and snowy) winter days. Thanks ladies!

Christmas is coming...

and I am not ready. I haven't posted for a long, long time, and I realized people can connect to my blog though comments I have made on many other blogs. So, as an experiment, I shall post a new message and see what it brings.

A Day Off

It's a day off from school! Unfortunately that means catch up on laundry, cleaning, etc., etc. that I didn't get finished within the framework of the "ordinary" weekend. There are tons of new projects I'd like to begin, but I'd better stick to the clean-up plan.
